WILLIS KIMBEL

In this episode of Talkin’ Schmitt, we welcome the old homie from up North, Mr. Willis Kimbel. Willis checks in from his new skateshop in Portland, Oregon Rip’s Co which was inspired by Bad Co. He shares his journey in skateboarding, the establishment of his skate shop, and the influence of his family and skate culture on his life. Family support played a crucial role in Willis’s skateboarding journey. Listen as we deep dive in the wayback maching where a young Willis experiences the early stokes of skateboarding at the Encinitas YMCA. Willis ponders the question of the potential revival of the iconic Thrasher Magazine skateboarding show ‘King of the Road’, and the importance of good company during travels One thing seems to be clear, the boys can chat it up and have plenty of history and stories together. Im guessing this is only part one of many more Willis episodes to come. ENJOY!
